it's a weekend project or our extended afterschool program, all
of our classes are designed to engage kids in the creative
process.
MONDAYS 3:45 - 5:30
Designed for younger builders, this 7-week program
combines learning basic tool safety and skills with fun,
pre-designed projects that allow lots of room for creative
customization.
Ages: 7 through 9
Class size: limited to 6
Fee: $385 per 7-week session
Sessions:
Jan/Feb - 1/9 through 2/20 (with make-up
day on 2/27)
Mar/Apr - 3/5 through 4/16 (with make-up
day on 4/23)
May/June - 4/30 through 6/11 (with make-up

Kids are picked up at dismissal and walk down to the studio.

During this 7-week program, kids will complete both
pre-designed projects as well as work on their own designs. We
will cover hand tool skills and safety, design, measuring,
layout, assembly and finishing.
Ages: 9 through 12

This special 7-week program is designed for kids who
have "graduated" from regular Afterschool Shop Class (or have
equivalent experience) and are eager for new challenges and
more advanced projects. The emphasis is still on fun, but we
will introduce new tools and techniques and kids will delve
deeper into project planning and design.
Ages: 10 through 12
Class size: limited to 5
Fee: $385 per 7-week session

Jan/Feb - 1/10 through 2/21 (with make-up
day on 2/28)
Mar/Apr - 3/6 through 4/17 (with make-up

Make a Custom
Lantern
Saturday 11/22, 10-11:30am | $60
Using wood, paper, plastic and a variety of hand tools,
we'll make this small lantern / night light. Kids will
learn how to safely use pull saws, glue guns, and how
to accurately measure and cut wood by following our
pre-set design. Then they can get creative with paint,
paper and other materials to finish this fun project in
their own style. All materials and tools are
provided.

Wood Shop Hot
Rods
Saturday 11/19, 10-11:30am | $50
This is one of our most popular classes and a great
first experience for young builders. We'll learn how to
safely use pull saws, hammers and drills to make
tricked out wooden cars and trucks. Kids will follow a
basic design to make the car chassis and attach the
wheels, then they can customize with fins, rockets,
engine blocks, flower pots, ice cream-firing
cannons...the sky's the limit. At the end of class,
kids can test out their creations by racing them on our
giant ramp! All materials and tools are provided.
